wALK THROUGH THE wedding day WITH ME!

The little details

When I first arrive (No matter what package you choose) I will make sure I include all the little details I can find. If your session allows for the time, I will ask you beforehand to have your keepsakes gathered into one place so I can get special photos of those. After all, you put in the work, you want to remember them!

Some keepsake ideas would be..

Rings, Jewelry, flasks, perfume, cologne, your something old, new, borrowed and blue, flowers, cigars, invitations, shoes, and anything else you’d like to remember.

GETTING READY

Sometimes, I will arrive early and get some candid photos of everyone getting ready (depending on your session). However, most of the time I will stage these moments in order to capture the beautiful getting ready photos everyone loves. These are called the “Finishing Touches” Photos and you won’t regret having them!

Wait until the very end to do the following and make sure I’m there! (Sometimes I will have you move to a better room to do the finishing touches.)

GIRLS

Putting on jewelry

zipping up the wedding dress

putting on wedding shoes

finishing lipstick touches

GUYS

Putting on your ties

Pinning your boutonniers

Buttoning your sleeves

Final touches on your hair

Try to leave about 20 minutes for the finishing touches photos.

WEDDING PARTIES

I usually allow for about 15 minutes for each wedding party photoshoot we do throughout the day. I will do everything from the fun and goofy group shots, to the perfectly posed shots. Typically this is the lineup after getting ready photos are finished.

Solo Groom

Groomsmen Photos

Solo Bride

Bridesmaids Photos

First look

Entire Wedding Party Photos

Just the couple

(Sometimes its also nice to do close family photos before the ceremony as well)

When planning your wedding, Try to allow for 2.5 hours of photo taking before your ceremony. If you plan on doing all the above before the ceremony. If you aren’t doing first looks then 1.5 hours should be plenty!

juST THE BRIDE

I just wanted to include some of the beautiful brides I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past. :)

CEREMONY shOTS

The main event. This is also the most exercise I will have all day. I will be doing my best to work around the guests and stay off to the side. I’ll touch base with your officiant to make sure there aren’t any rules he’d like me to follow, key words he will be saying before prompting you to do something different and (most importantly) take a couple of steps away from the 2 of you during your first kiss.

After the ceremony

After the ceremony I will have your officiant announce any family members that would like to be in the big group photos to meet in our designated spot. I try to go through this portion as quickly as possible because I know grandma doesn’t like standing around for an hour waiting for pictures.

I do the entire family on both sides first. I’ll start with the brides side next with everyone and then work our way down. And then repeat for the grooms side of the family.

If you haven’t had your couples portraits done yet I will take you right after the family photos to have these done.

(If you have a first look, we usually transition into your couples photos directly after).

Sometimes I will snag you away for a few minutes just for some pretty golden hour shots.

When planning your day I would leave room for about an hour of photos after the ceremony, before your reception.

Quick Tip

Think about doing a “grand entrance” photo instead of a “Grand exit” photo. Sometimes the darker exit is harder to capture and a lot of people have left the party. If you do a grand entrance to your reception you can enjoy it with all of your friends!

PARTY TIME

The rest is easy from here! I will be working with whomever is making your announcements for speeches, cake cutting, and dances so I don’t miss a thing.

Try to do the garter toss if you are doing one, before it gets too dark. That way everyone can see well and so can the camera!

To wrap this up

I know that every wedding is different and I am so excited to see how perfect your day goes. This is a general guide of the day with some tips I’ve gathered along the way to help you have the smoothest day possible and not miss a shot :)

THANK YOU FOR BOOKING WITH ME!
